No BS About HS: Patient Stories for Humira

Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is a painful and often isolating skin condition that many people live with for years before receiving a diagnosis—if they’re believed at all. Working with Publicis and Humira, I directed a series of short films featuring real people—Tara, Sterling, and Kerry—whose stories bring visibility and understanding to life with HS. Each film strips away stigma and misinformation to reveal the emotional and physical toll of the disease while offering connection, clarity, and representation. To bring the campaign’s message into the real world, we 3D printed the “HS BS” logo as a physical object—something they could hold, confront, or chuck over their shoulders—transforming the campaign’s message into a literal, physical gesture of defiance.

Braving Neuroblastoma: Devin and Leah Still
Devin Still was known in the NFL for his tenacity, grit, and powerful presence on the defensive line—but nothing could prepare him for the fight he and his daughter Leah would face off the field. At just four years old, Leah was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. Created with FCB Health, this film follows their emotional journey—from the shock of a 50/50 prognosis through experimental treatments and into survivorship. Together, Devin and Leah transformed their experience into a message of strength and support, helping other families navigate the fear, uncertainty, and complexity of childhood cancer—with compassion, clarity, and purpose.

AARP Foundation: Out of the Shadows
This awareness film for AARP Foundation was created to highlight the invisible struggles of older Americans facing hunger, poverty, and isolation—and to show how support, dignity, and connection can change lives. I had the honor of working with Maya Angelou as narrator, whose voice carried the weight, warmth, and moral clarity that the story demanded. She brought unmistakable presence and passion to the project, elevating the film with a sense of purpose only she could convey. Through real testimony and Maya’s grounded narration, the film moves from quiet hardship to renewed hope, reminding viewers that lifting people out of the shadows starts with seeing them clearly.
